SEABEES Pride on display in Iraq

[OPERATION SEABEES KNOWLEDGE / seabeesinfohq.org]

The photo above shows SEABEE Pride diplayed in a very big way at the entrance to a major SEABEE camp in Iraq. The World War Two recruiting poster shows today's SEABEES know their heritage! The large red diamond with the number 74 is a graphic of the unit ID decals used to identify which SEABEE units vehicles and other equipment belong to. The "Fighting Seabee" logo and the U.S. Navy's Official Departmental Seal tell the rest of the story of SEABEE pride. Below are the logo decals of SEABEE units who have been located at this facility during this operation. Some are on the second deployment to the same area! The SEABEES will also leave their mark on Iraq in another important way after this visible reminder is taken down. They will leave behind a legacy of infrastructure and goodwill that will endure for the benefit of the Iraqi people long after the units here have all departed.
